No matter how big or small a blog owner wants to see how many comments to the articles. When a blog has just launched no greater satisfaction than to the author receiving a feedback from readers about what is written. Those with experience in blogging also want their comments and I know that the number and quality of the comments say more about the impact on readers article.
But occasionally, I happen to write articles that you think they are pretty great but elusive comments ... This can be very discouraging and can make you think twice before you grab a new article . However, the lack of comments does not mean that your article is lacking in quality. Here are some reasons why not get some comments and suggestions to change this.
1. The articles are too long
There are two issues that need to have in mind when writing a long article, namely:
- most of the posts on other blogs are short;
- articles readers are generally very busy.
If users are accustomed to read your blog on other blogs and articles that were on average 500 words and then I come across the article written by you which has 3,000 words might feel overwhelmed. It is not uncommon for them to mark your item as "read when I have time" and move on to the next item to look much shorter and longer to read and return it to yours.
Some bloggers are able to succeed with long articles, but this means swimming against the tide. It's not a bad thing, but in this case we have to accept that you will not receive as many comments as when you write short articles.
If you have already published long articles would probably be best to leave it as is but in the future would be to see if maybe you can post longer divided into a series of shorter articles and if this is not possible , try to publish some articles after each item shorter term.
2. Do not you asked readers to comment
Sometimes an article is complete without also providing clear if readers want or do not answer. In such situations, readers will not know the reason for watching the receipt of feedback will not comment on the blog.
On the other hand, if you do not respond to comments you risk to send the message that not put too much value on their opinion. Blogs large may represent an exception because the readers are aware that many readers are bloggers who are unable to respond to every comment.
When you finish an item, ask your readers what they think of those exposed or finishing your article with a question so that it is clear that the answers are welcome. And if not answered before appearing on the blog comments would be good to start doing so.
3. Readers do not know what to say
Have you ever read an article that you inspire so much that you feel that there is absolutely nothing not completed at the same time not want to just say "Very good article!"? Or an article that was so complex that simply did not know what to say?
Definitely yes. Why do not you think that the same can happen with your own articles?
But before concluding comments are due to lack brilliance of your articles you should check again to see if the items you've made clear and if you use an accessible language.Ask yourself if what you wrote is relevant, useful or interesting to your readers. Besides these lururi the article should include questions that we give meaning to readers appreciate the feedback.
4. Your readers what you are advised to make
If you give your readers tips or suggestions can be prepared for them to do exactly what you tell them to do.
Also if you suggest some links and tell readers to check them and read what is written there is very likely that they also do so.
5. Readers follow the links from your blog
Writing articles that include links to older articles and the use of plug-ins that you look at articles related to writing can have an effect on the number of comments you get. If readers still click on a link that is in the middle of your article, it is likely that they read the second article before the finish and the first one to jump to another and so do not get to read Articles to the end and comment on it.
This is why you will not find many links on a landing page, and if they find that they are likely to lead you to the original page. Sellers know that most buyers will click on those links and if those links lead them away from the original page is therefore likely to be a lost sale.
There is not necessarily a direct link, but if we think the connection between time spent by readers on the blog (due to inter-linkarii) and number of comments is possible to see that those plug-ins that you have a display related articles negative influence on the number of comments. Try to change strategy or trying to display the links for a disable those plug-ins and check whether or not to change.
6. Readers begin to follow you on social networks
This point is very similar to sections 4 and 5. If you give your readers a lot of ways to connect with you then it may be another reason why they will not post a comment.
Think only to situations where you clicked to watch someone on Facebook or Twitter and you're lost in conversation there. This happens with links that send readers to blog networks.
If you prefer your comments and social networks do not consider the option of placing links at the bottom of social media to keep them or just those that are active.
7. How to publish a comment is cumbersome
Not once I hit the situation where having read an article I wanted to post a comment but I quit when I realized how this process is laborious.
As readers find it difficult to comment on the lower probability that they do. Think well before choosing a plug-in for posting comments to implement it and remember that often the best solution is the simplest.
8. Public Articles at inconvenient times
If you publish an article at night when I sleep most of your readers, or after the time of check their mail, at the earliest moment in which they can post a comment the next day but then your article will be found among a number of other articles the RSS feed.
Try to figure out which time of day that your readers are most active and try to publish your articles in that period. This may cost you less work and you may take some time but will make a big difference in the number of comments you will receive.
Number of comments not only dependent on content
Perhaps you noticed that only the first five points refer to content items and the last three have no connection with what you wrote in the article. It's hard to say what will have a significant effect on the number of comments your blog receives as all blogs are so different, the main recommendation would be to try to look at your blog and articles from the viewpoint of the reader and also choose an issue that you believe should be improved.(However, the best starting point is to check if the method of posting comments can not be improved).
As you can see there are many reasons why your readers do not comment on articles, and many of these have nothing to do with the fact that your articles are not quality. He continues to write and test different strategies to improve your blog is the only way you can get better.
